Azerbaijan, Baku, July 6 / Trend , S.Aliyev/

Currently, Azerbaijan receives 11-12 million cubic meters of associated gas from the offshore Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli consortium of foreign companies (with the participation of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) under BP's operation, a source in Azerbaijan's oil and gas industry said.

Basing on the volume of daily shipments, we can assume that the annual transfer of gas from this unit will exceed the projected figures, the source said.

It was expected that BP would supply (free) Azerbaijan with about 1.45 billion cubic meters of associated gas produced from these units this year.

Azerbaijan will receive about three million cubic meters of gas this year, the source said.

In 2008, Azerbaijan received 2.1 billion cubic meters of associated gas from the ACG.

In 2009, BP continues to export gas from three platforms (Central Azeri, West Azeri and East Azeri) via a 28-inch underwater pipeline to the Sangachal terminal and the Azerigaz system for domestic consumption in the country.

Part of the associated gas produced from the Chirag platform is sent to the SOCAR compressor station in Oil Rocks via the existing 16-inch underwater gas pipeline. The rest of the fuel from the ACG platform was sent via local industrial pipelines to the platform to press the gas and inject water for repeated injection to bed and maintenance of reservoir pressure.
