In January-June, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) (excluding joint ventures and operating companies) drilled 94,028 meters compared to 122,785 meters for the same period of 2008, SOCAR said.
Of a total drilling, 93,684 meters fell to production drilling (119,800 meters in 2008) and 344 meters - exploration drilling (2,985 meters in 2008).
SOCAR drilled 13.919 meters in June and 13,805 meters of this fell to production drilling and 114 meters exploration.
