The Turkish energy minister expressed on Saturday Turkey's readiness to do what it had to do to raise trade with Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, Anadolu Agency reported.
Turkey's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz arrived at the Nakhichevan International Airport to hold talks with Vasif Talibov, the chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhichevan; and Rovnag Abdullayev, the president of the Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR.
"Turkey is ready to do what it has to do to raise its trade volume with Nakhichevan," Yildiz said during his meeting with Talibov.
Yildiz said Azerbaijan and Turkey had common friends and enemies, and underlined the importance Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan attached to Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan.
"Erdogan has instructed construction of a natural gas pipeline and railway between Nakhichevan and Igdir," he said.
Yildiz also expressed Turkey's readiness to give a positive response to any proposal from Nakhichevan.
Also, Talibov said that Nakhichevan was giving power to Turkey, and the amount of electricity it was giving to Turkey would be raised in the future.
Talibov also said that Turkey, Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan would further improve friendship and relations.
Later, executives of the Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Ministry had talks with executives of SOCAR company.
