SOCAR increases dramatically light oil exports via Baku-Supsa pipeline

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic's (SOCAR) exported more than 1.7 million tons of light crude from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field through the Baku-Supsa western pipeline route in January to July, 2009, SOCAR said.

Всего в 2008 году по этому трубопроводу было экспортировано 407,1 тысяч тонн нефти. В 2007 году нефть в этом направлении не отгружалась из-за проведения ремонтных работ на трубопроводе.

SOCAR exported 407,100 tons of oil in 2008. In 2007, SOCAR did not shipped oil in this direction due to repair work on the pipeline.

Oil exports have not been carried out the western pipeline route Baku - Supsa since November 2006 because of repairs. Oil exports were not implemented by rail to the Georgian Black Sea port of Batumi in January, 2009.

Supplies via the Baku-Supsa pipeline began in November 2006. The pipeline is operated by BP. 

The pipeline was under the repair since 2006. The pipeline was filled with oil in mid-2008. Oil pumping was halted due to the August war in Georgia. SOCAR did not exported oil by railway via the Georgian port of Batumi in January to July.

SOCAR exported 326,030 tons of oil from ACG field in 2008 compared to 221,200 tons in 2007.
