The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) plans to complete drilling new operational well on the Alat Daniz field, a source in SOCAR said on Sept.1.
At present, the company is drilling well No.64 on the Alat Daniz-63 platform. The new well will be put into operation by late December.
The design depth of the new well is 3,450 meters, 2,500 meters of which have been drilled, the same source said.
The expected daily debit of the well is estimated to 20,000 cubic meters of gas and 50 tons of oil.
Recently, SOCAR has launched drilling one more well (No.74) on the Alat Daniz-18 platform on the field of the same name.
The design depth of the new well is 4,000 meters. The company drilled only 80 meters, as the company launched drilling on Aug. 31. The company plans to complete the drilling by late 2010. The expected daily debit of the well is about 20,000 cubic meters of gas and 40 tons of oil.
The Bayil Limani manages the drilling of the both wells.
Azerbaijan has 57 oil and gas fields, including 18 offshore wells. SOCAR has more than 62, 000 employees.
