Accident on Stavropol-Tbilisi gas pipeline not to affect Georgia: minister

The incident on the Stavropol-Tbilisi gas pipeline will not affect the gas supply of Georgian. Georgia does not receive gas from Russia. Georgia has legalized an agreement on gas supplies from Azerbaijan and receives natural gas exactly from this country, Georgian Energy Minister, Alexander Khetaguri told journalists.

Today [Sept.1.], approximately at 03:00, the accident occurred on the gas pipeline near the village of Upper Achaluk, Ingushetia. As a result of the accident there were no casualties and threat of environmental pollution.

According Khetaguri, this accident will not affect Georgia. This pipeline delivers gas to Armenia.
