Schedule of oil shipment from Novorossiysk in Sept

SOCAR will sell one consignment of Azerbaijani oil with volume of 140,000 tons from Novorossiysk in September. The shipment will take place on Sept. 25-26.

Under the forecast, the oil pipeline will transport 140,000 tons of the Azerbaijani oil in September, 248,000 tons - in October, 240,000 tons - in November and 140,000 tons in December.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) ships its oil via the Novorossiysk port. In January-July, SOCAR exported around 1.5 million tons of oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline compared to over 782,000 tons in the same period of 2008. A total of 247,000 tons of the Azerbaijani oil was exported via this oil pipeline in July compared to 83,700 in the same period of 2008.

In 2009, SOCAR intends to increase oil export via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline to 2.5 million tons compared roughly 1.3 millions tons in 2008.

At present, Azerbaijan gets Urals oil in exit [in the port of Novorossiysk] while transporting oil via the Baku - Novorossiysk pipeline due to its getting blended with other producers' oil.

The Azerbaijan International Operating Company, which has transferred its functions to SOCAR, was the operator of the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline by late 2007:
