In January-September SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) exported more than 1.85 million tons via the northern Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline compared to 948,000 tons in the same period of 2008, SOCAR said.
In September, the company exported around 140,000 tons of oil via this pipeline compared to 83,000 tons in the same period of 2008.
In 2009, SOCAR intends to increase its oil exports to 2.5 million tons via the Baku - Novorossiysk pipeline, compared to 1.3 million tons in 2008.
In 2007, SOCAR exported around 1.2 million tons of oil through this pipeline, which was similar to the index of 2006. In 2005, this index was 1.6 million tons.
