Natiq Abbasov was appointed Azerbaijani deputy minister of industry and energy in accordance with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's decree dated Nov. 19, the Ministry said.
Earlier Abbasov was deputy head of the ministry's State Gas Control Department.
Abbasov is charged with managing the oil and gas, energy and petrochemicals departments, and monitoring the implementation of state and international programs.
Abbasov was born in Baku in 1968. He graduated from the Azerbaijani Construction Engineering Institute.
