The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to refine 6.6 million tons of oil in two Baku-based oil refinery plants in 2010, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said today.
"Currently the production depth at the ORPs hit 90 percent. Next year the figure is expected to attain 92-93 percent in 2010. The company plans to refine a total of 6.6 milion tins of oil next year," Abdullayev said.
In January to November 2009 SOCAR refined 5.5 million tons of oil as compared to 6.7 million tons in the same period of 2008.
Azerbaijan produces oil products at its two ORPs with the total production capacity of 20 million tons a year. Both ORPs are part of SOCAR, which refines oil produced from the onshore and offshore fields under own development.
