Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 21 / Trend E.Ismayilov /

At present, the average gas supply of Bakgaz (distribution and sale of gas to Baku), under the Azerigas Production Unity (PU), to the Baku gas supply system is 10.4 million cubic meters compared to 6.55 as of Nov.18,  a source in the company said. Earlier, Azerigas JSC was attached to the structure of SOCAR (Sate Oil Company of the Azerbaijan) as PU.

The average gas supply is 10.4 million cubic meters, he added. The gas consumption in Baku increases due to fall of temperature.

In January-November, the gas supply of Bakgaz to the Baku gas supply system was 2.1 billion cubic meters.

In November, over 216 million cubic meter of gas was transferred to the gas system of Baku, compared to 123.6 million cubic meters in October. In August this index hit 104 million cubic meter. About 114 million cubic meters of gas was transferred to the gas system of Baku in June and 141 million in May.

The PU transferred about 2.45 billion cubic meters of gas to the gas feed system of Baku in 2008.

PU refused from season gas supply (summer and winter seasons) in Baku's gas system in 2008. Volume of supplied gas is determined by consumers' demand. Introduction of season regime was connected with lack of gas meters among most part of population. As a result population used gas irrationally. Presently, 100 percent of users of Baku's system were provided with gas meters, a source said. Earlier, daily gas supply was 3-4 million cubic meters in summer but 10-13 million cubic meters in winter.
