Azerenergy PU exports 200,000-250,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per day to Russia, Azerenergy Vice-president Marlen Asgarov said at a news conference today.

According toAsgarov, electricity exported to Russia, accounts for night, as the country has its excess during this period. For Azerenergy it is disadvantageous to stop the work of large power plants, since the inclusion - off the station is fraught with the loss of time and money.

Regarding the interconnection of the Russian, Azerbaijani and Iranian power systems, Asgerov said that Moscow and Tehran are negotiating on this matter.

"Azerbaijan is ready to implement this project because it will allow to export its own electricity, as well as get income from the transit of energy through its territory," he added.
