Turkmenistan and Iran show exemplary behavior in joining of efforts to solve global and regional issues of energy supply, Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov's said in his address.
Text of the address issued on Turkmen media outlets timed to commissioning the Dovletabat-Serakhs (Turkmenistan) - Hangeran (Iran) recently.
"This pipeline will be an integral part of the world stable energy supply system. And therein lays its special significance. The construction was conducted rapidly and was completed in a short time," he said.
Berdimuhammedov said that the implemented project shows Turkmenistan and Iran are "oriented to understanding at a high political level".
This gas pipeline is the second in succession laid from Turkmenistan to Iran. About 20 billion cubic meters of gas will be supplied to Iran via two pipelines annually after the new pipeline begin operating in full power.
"The international community pays great attention to reliable energy security and energy supply," Turkmen President's said in his address.
Berdimuhammedow said that Dovletabat-Serakhs (Turkmenistan) - Hangeran (Iran) is a facility which meets the highest requirements of modern science and technology.
"This gas pipeline which is reliable for the production, security and ecology confirms our countries' great opportunities in financing and implementing the construction of such complex facilities from economy, industry, science and technology point of view," Berdimuhammedow said in his address.
