Aktau international sea trade port transported over 11.3 million tons of oil-loading freights in 2009 compared to about 9 million tons in 2008, sea trade port said.
Aktau international sea trade port transported 958,600 tons of oil-loading freights in December compared to 907,900 tons in November.
Roughly 2.6 million tons of dry freights were transported in 2009 compared to 2.11million tons in 2008.
Total volume of Aktau international sea trade port's transportation hit 14 million tons of dry and oil-loading freights in 2009. This index hit 11 million tons in 2008. In December, the index was 1.2 million.
Roughly 2077 ships operated in Aktau port in 2009.
Presently, there are six international sea ports - Baku (Azerbaijan), Astrakhan (Russia), Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan), Aktau (Kazakhstan), Enzeli and Neka (Iran) in the Caspian Sea.
