U.S. envoy to discuss energy issues in Ashgabat

U.S. Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy Richard Morningstaris on a visit to Turkmenistan March 2-4.
He plans to hold meetings with representatives of the Turkmen government to enhance further cooperation in the energy sector, the U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat said.
Morningstar was appointed to the position by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and sworn in April 6, 2009.
Previously, Morningstar lectured at Harvard University.
From June 1999 to September 2001, he served as U.S. ambassador to the EU. Earlier, he worked as special adviser to the president and secretary of state for energy issues in the Caspian region.
