Japanese Itochu Corporation and JGC have submitted proposals to the Turkmen government concerning the implementation of projects in the textile and chemical industries.

According to official Turkmen sources, it deals with investment of the project to set up a carbamide plant in the regional center - the city of Mary.

These companies have been represented on the Turkmen market for a long time. They took part in the reconstruction of the refinery in Turkmenbashi. Thus, the Turkmen side paid off Japanese investments owing to the delivery of finished products.

Business negotiations are held within the agreements reached during the first official visit of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov to Japan in December 2009.

The regular meeting of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee on economic cooperation was planned to be held this year. Co-chair of this structure, Itochu adviser Sumitaka Fujita, as well as head of Komatsu in CIS Masao Fujita told the Turkmen President at a meeting.

Turkmenistan actively purchases equipment Komatsu. An educational center of the company has been recently opened on the basis of one of Turkmen universities.
