Norwegian company to build cascade of hydropower plants in Adjaria

The winner of the tender for construction of a cascade of hydropower plants on the river of Adzharistskali in Georgia was a Norwegian company Clean Energy Invest.

Georgian Energy Minister Alexander Khetaguri said that Norwegian company won among the three companies participating in the tender. Two of them were Turkish - "Colin" and "Limak". The Georgian government examined their bids.

The project envisages construction of four hydroelectric plants. The total capacity of the cascade will be 115.5 megawatts, and annual output of 578,500,000 kilowatt-hours. The cascade consists of four hydroelectric - Zomleti, Vaio, Koromheti and Chorokhi.
