Azerbaijan significantly ups chemical production

In January-April  2010, Azerkimya state-owned company (production of chemical products), which was transferred as PU to SOCAR in early April,  produced 4.3 million cubic meters of nitrogen which is 16.2 percent more than the figure in 2009, Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee said.

The production of main chemical products increased during the report period.

In addition to increased production of chemical raw materials, the country also increased production of plastics and rubber.

In January-April the country had produced 1,650 tons of polyethylene pipe, tubing, hoses, that in 2.8 times more compared to same period of 2009. The country produced 85 tons of porous polyurethane plates and strips, which was similar to previous years. Growth is also observed in the production of plastic dishes - 9.9 tons total, which is 57.1 percent more compared to the same period of 2009.
