SOCAR sells over 140,000 tons of oil products on Georgian market in January-May

In January-May SOCAR sold about 143,600 tons of Azerbaijani oil products on the Georgian market compared to more than 171,000 tons in January-May last year, SOCAR Energy Georgia, which is a subsidiary of SOCAR in Georgia said.

A source said that in January-May, SOCAR sold nearly 61.500 tons of gasoline, 69,000 tons of diesel fuel, about 11,200 tons of jet fuel, 414 tons of fuel oil and more than 1,500 tons of bitumen.

In 2010, SOCAR plans to sell 412,000 tons of petroleum products on the Georgian market compared to more than 406,000 tons in 2009.

Oil products are produced on the basis of two refineries with total capacity of 20 million tons of oil a year. Both refineries are a part of SOCAR, which annually processes approximately six to seven million tons of oil extracted in the fields of onshore and offshore fields at its own expense.

Last year, the Baku refinery processed 6.03 million tons compared to 7.35 million tons in 2008. This year, SOCAR plans to process 6,15 million tons of oil on its own two refineries.
