Russia's Union of Oil & Gas Producers shows high interest in new joint projects in Turkmenistan and confirm "willingness to expand its presence in the promising Turkmen market," Russia's Union of Oil & Gas Producers chairman Yuri Shafranik said at a meeting in Ashgabat with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov.

Russia's Union of Oil & Gas Producers shows high interest in new joint projects in Turkmenistan and confirm "willingness to expand its presence in the promising Turkmen market," Russia's Union of Oil & Gas Producers chairman Yuri Shafranik said at a meeting in Ashgabat with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov.

The Turkmen leader expressed to the head of Russia's largest company "gratitude for their active assistance in the training of national personnel in the leading educational centres of Russia".

According to the Turkmen government, Shafranik stated about his intention to continue this practice given the scope and priorities of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan in the future too.

The sides discussed ways of cooperation based on broad prospects opened by the strategy of modernization and diversification of fuel and energy complex, which is implemented in Turkmenistan.

Berdimuhammadov emphasized that "one of the trends emerging in the global market, is the development of oil and gas industry", offering to prepare concrete proposals for cooperation in this field given the experience, advanced technologies and advanced equipments.
