Uzbek TPS to direct 73 percent of net profit at production in 2009

Sirdarya thermo power station, the biggest power station in the Central Asia, will direct at production 5.809 billion sums, or 73.4 percent of net profit in 2009, the enterprise announced.

The decision was taken at an annual meeting of the TPS shareholders.

In accordance with the stock balance, the enterprise's net profit rose 2.5 times at the end of last year compared to 2008 to 7.919 billion sums.

The shareholders decided to direct five percent of net profit (395.977 million sums) at the reserve fund, one percent at financial stimulation of employees, and 20.6 percent (1.628 billion sums) at payment of dividends

Dividends for 2009 will comprise 11.68 percent per annum per ordinary and 25 percent per privileged share with net price of 10,000 sums.

The enterprise paid dividends based on 5.35 percent on ordinary and 40 percent on privileged share in 2008.

The statutory fund of the enterprise has been formed in the amount of 13.700.65 billion and divided into 1.356.364 million ordinary and 13,701 privileged share with the face value of 10,000 sums.

State share in the statutory capital is 99 percent, while personnel hold one percent. It is planned to sell 48 percent of state share to foreign investors.

The State Property Committee announced a tender in December 2007 for sale of 48 percent of stock of Syrdarya TPS with the initial price of $222.9 million, whilst the tender was announced failure after repeated prolongation.

TPS assets rose by 22.5 percent to 433.09 billion sums, and liabilities by 25.7 percent to 350.7 billion sums in 2009

Net profit from sale of products rose by 8.2 percent to 325.98 billion sums, face price by 5.6 percent to 295.98 billion sums.

Sirdarya TPS produced 13.598 billion KW of electricity in 2009 compared to 13.573 billion KW a year ago. Electricity flow made up 12.908 billion KW compared to 12.896 billion KW per hour in 2008.

Uzbekistan's power system currently operates 42 power stations with capacity of 12,358 MW, including 16 power stations entering Uzbekenergo, with the total capacity of 12,040 MW.

Electricity production in Uzbekistan decreased by 0.3 percent in 2009 compared to 2008 to 49.954 billion KW.
