Azerbaijan, Baku, July 27 / Trend E. Ismayilov /

SOCAR operates to transfer offshore infrastructure and communications to the shallow part of the deposit Guneshli to install a two-block gas lift platform, a source in SOCAR said.

He said that both units of the platform are already ready to be transported to the field. One block was built on the Deep Water Jacket Plant named after Heydar Aliyev, and the second - on the basis of the block Guneshli-20 unused since 1990. The main reason for the delay of construction work is problems with offshore infrastructure, and in particular the underwater pipelines.

"The work is underway on the transfer of communications. It is hard to say about completion term. As soon as the transfer process is completed, the blocks will be transported to the sea," the source said.

The platform will be installed at the field "Guneshli" at a depth of 90-92 meters, 50 meters from the existing platform Guneshli-4. Platforms will be connected by a pedestrian bridge. According to the draft, social infrastructure is a residential block, a canteen. But a spare rig and a helipad will be common for both platforms.

The topside of the new platform will be used for technological needs. A new gas lift station, consisting of eight units will be built. Gas with pressure of 125 atmospheres will be pumped into the reservoir due to this station. Topsides consist of a compressor station and the entire industrial infrastructure. They will be designed and manufactured abroad.

The project was prepared by SOCAR's research and design institute Neftqazelmitedqiqatlayihe.
