SOCAR to open nine filling stations in Georgia within several weeks

Within several weeks SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) will put into operation nine filling stations in Georgia under its own brand, a source in SOCAR Energy Georgia, which is a subsidiary of SOCAR in Georgia said July 27.

The source said that at present the number of filling stations of SOCAR in Georgia hit 38. However, the company intends to open one filling station in Tbilisi and two in Marneuli, densely populated by Azerbaijanis. After a week, the company also plans to open a filling station in Batumi.

After two weeks, it's planned to open two new filling stations in Tbilisi, two - in Telavi and one - in Batumi.

Co-founders of SOCAR Georgia are: SOCAR - 51 percent, Petro-Trans FZCO - 24.5 percent and Ivan Chkhartishvili - 24.5 percent.
