Palmali group sends new tanker ‘Shah Deniz’ to maiden voyage

One of the largest vessels of Aframax class of Palmali “Shah Deniz’ has sailed for its maiden voyage from the Japanese shipyard Tsuneish to load up to full cargo capacity of Gasoil from Sikka/India and discharge in West Europe, the company said.

One of the largest vessels of Aframax class of Palmali "Shah Deniz' has sailed for its maiden voyage from the Japanese shipyard Tsuneish to load up to full cargo capacity of Gasoil from Sikka/India and discharge in West Europe, the company said.

According to the Company's, the vessel ship was set afloat July 29. The ship's length - 243,3 m, width - 42 m, deadweight- 107,507 tons.

Palmali group signed a memorandum for the purchase of two tankers Aframax with deadweight of 107,400 tons made by Japanese shipyard Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Company May 26. Palmali received both tankers for long-term contracts for transportation of crude oil and oil products from the Black and Mediterranean seas.

Palmali is involved in cargo deliveries in the Mediterranean, Caspian and Black Sea Basin. It is the largest company involved in transportation in Russian internal waters. By late 2010 Palmali plans to purchase a ship of VLCC type with capacity of 300,000 deadweight tons and a Suezmax vessel with capacity of 165,000 deadweight tons.
