CJSC Ekol Muhendislik Xidmetleri has started the main phase of bio-remediation cleaning work at SOCAR's Siyazanneft Oil and Gas Production Department, the CJSC official website reports.
According to the website, from February 2010, 46,000 cubic meters of oil sludge and roughly 28,000 cubic meters of polluted water have been removed from the Siyazanneft territory. In addition, 90,000 cubic meters of land was transported to the territory.
The shareholders of Ekol Muhendislik Xidmetleri, created in March 2006 to solve environmental problems on Azerbaijan's Absheron peninsula, are SOCAR with 51 percent and Lancer SA Services with 49 percent.
