The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) plans to put into operation three more gas stations by Sept. 20, an inside SOCAR source told Trend.
According to the source, one station will open on the road leading from Baku to the airport and a second station will also open on the Baku-Salyan Highway.
The source did not disclose the location of the third station.
According to another company representative, operations are underway to construct several more gas stations in other regions of the country.
Head of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev said the company will have 10 gas stations in Azerbaijan by late 2010. The company plans to open a total of 26-30 gas stations in Azerbaijan, he added. Investments in their construction will top 20 million manat.
SOCAR opened its first three gas stations in the country on May 7. All of the stations are located in Baku. Ten more stations will open in Azerbaijan next year.
