A complex gas treatment facility constructed by the German-Belgian consortium PALL Gmbh-ENEX Process Engineering will be launched soon in the western part of Turkmenistan on the Akpatlavuk field, Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.

France's Schneider Electric and Belleli of Italy are involved in the implementation of the $40-million project while Turkmen companies Ak Pamyk and Yagty Gun have conducted construction and assembly works.

This is the second such facility in the southwest of Turkmenistan. Another was installed on the Korpedje west field where the first Turkmen transnational gas pipeline, Korpedje-Gurtguyi, originates.

The facility on the Akpatlavuk field is designed for the collection, preparation and transportation of the three billion cubic meters of associated gas from three fields - Akpatlavuk, Keimir and Chekishler. Its construction began in 2007.

Attendant infrastructure was created as part of the project on the Akpatlavuk field, including a 28km gas pipeline from the facility for export, the Turkmenistan-Iran transnational gas pipeline, and two 2.7km gas pipelines.
