Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Dec. 22 / Trend H.Hasanov /

The Turkmen Oil and Gas and Mineral Resources Ministry will hold a series of international conferences abroad to further expand international cooperation and investment in the development and exploration of oil and gas in Turkmenistan, an official Turkmen source reported.

The first among these is going to be an event titled "Turkmenistan Oil & Gas Road Show 2011", which will take place at Pan Pacific hotel in Singapore on March 3-4, 2011. The forum will be led by senior officials of the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan, with the next event to be held in Berlin on March 7-8, 2012.

In 2010, Turkmenistan launched the first stage of the industrial development of the country's largest gas field, South Yoloten-Osman, due to foreign loans totaling $9.7 billion. \

Turkmen geologists predict the field's reserves at 22 trillion cubic meters of gas. In 2011, British Gaffney Cline & Associates (GCA) will revise its estimate published two years ago. Then the figure was within a 4-14 trillion cubic feet of gas.

Turkmenistan believes this field can provide the fuel the gas pipelines to Europe ("Nabucco" - through the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Turkey, the Trans Caspian - through Kazakhstan and Russia) as well as in India and Pakistan (TAPI - through Afghanistan).

Turkmenistan is also interested in borrowing for development of the Caspian Sea.
