The Russian Gazprom and the National Holding Company (NHC) Uzbekneftegaz signed contracts on purchase of natural gas and agreement on transportation of gas through territory of the country in 2011-2012, the Russian company said in a press release.
The data on specific volumes of natural gas purchases and its costs is not disclosed.
The document was signed during working visit of the Gazprom delegation led by deputy chairperson of the Board Aleksander Medvedev to Uzbekistan.
During the visit, Medvedev held meeting with First Vice Premier Rustam Azimov, Vice Premier Gulomjon Ibragimov and chairman of the board of Uzbekneftegaz national holding company Shokir Fayzullaev.
After the negotiations, the sides agreed contracts on purchase of gas in 2011-2012 and agreement on transportation of natural gas through territory of Uzbekistan for the same period.
Besides, the sides agreed to increase efficiency of activity of joint ventures, including in financial sphere, the company said.
