Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec.27 / Trend E. Ismailov /
Next year, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will begin assembly of two new plants on the basis of the "Azerkimya" Production Unit, SOCAR head Rovnag Abdullayev said today.
According to him, assembly of plants for the production of polypropylene and polyethylene of low pressure will allow increasing the production of chemical products by 2013.
Upgrading works have been already carried out at the enterprises owned by the JSC, as a result of which production increased from 26-27 percent to 40-42 percent, Abdullayev said.
He also noted that upgrading of chemical complex is one of the main directions of SOCAR's activity for 2011.
After including "Azerkimya" in SOCAR, major repairs have been started in its all enterprises. Outdated and unserviceable equipments were dismantled.
Within the upgrading, which is envisaged at the enterprises and factories, owned by the production unit, it is planned to replace facilities with high energy and water consumption. To increase product quality and diversification of raw material the production unit intends to work on updating the system of raw materials distribution at all its facilities, which, in turn, envisages supplying high-quality straight-run gasoline, propane-propylene fraction and gas fraction.
It is also planned to create an industrial park here, which will include many small enterprises, specializing in the production of finished chemical products (disposable tableware, plastic windows, etc.).
