Feasibility study of Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant modernization project to be ready by late first quarter of 2011

A feasibility study of the project to modernize the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant (PPP) will be ready by the end of the first quarter of 2011, JSC general director Shukhrat Danbai said.

"At the end of March 2011 the plant will receive feasibility study of the project of the enterprise's modernization," Danbai said at the final meeting of JSC KMG - Processing and Marketing. "

According to him, today a clear plan for reconstruction of the plant has been defined jointly with the Italian company Eni.

Head of the enterprise said that today the PPP's production is focused on producing high-quality oil products that meet world standards.

"This requires the introduction of modern technologies, upgrading equipment, as the equipments of the plant have been operated for over 30 years," Danbai said.

As was previously reported, in the spring of 2009, a program of the enterprise's technical development for 2010-2014 was developed, which was drawn up given the integrated plan of development of oil refineries of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2009-2015. Within this program it is supposed to implement the project of modernization of JSC PPP.

The design capacity of Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant is 7.5 million tons of oil a year. From August 2009, the plant is a member of the National Company KMG, which has become one of the major positive factors for its technical and socio-economic growth.
