Gasification continues in remote villages in the Balkan province, located in the western part of Turkmenistan as part of the national program on improving the social and living conditions in the regions.
As reported in the media with reference to the Turkmengaz State Concern, some 22 kilometers gas pipeline has already been laid to supply gas to villages in the highland Chendira in Makhtumkuli region.

It is emphasized that work in extremely difficult mountainous area is not easy, every time it needs to develop new routes, calculate all the options, keep in mind the safety of gas lines, distribution networks, ecology and environmental protection.
So far, as part of the national program, the Balkan gas companies have built and put into operation 1,025 km gas pipelines, gasified more than 4,000 households.

Turkmenistan ranks the fourth in the world for the natural gas reserves. The main income of the country comes from the export of this type of fuel, which at is currently exported to China, Iran and Russia.
