Georgian ports increase cargo transshipment

In 2010, the Georgian Black Seaport Batumi transshipped 8 million tons of various cargo compared to 7.8 million tons in 2009, Georgian government said on Monday.

According to the information, in 2008 the port transshipped 8.7 million tons of various cargo.
The Kazakh oil, which is supplied to Georgia through Azerbaijan, is transshipped through Batumi port. The owner of an oil terminal in the Batumi port is the Kazakh KazMunaiGas.

Also, according to the information, the Poti Port increased its cargo transshipment. In 2010 the port transshipped 7.3 million tons of cargo compared to 6.1 million tons in 2009.

According to the information, in 2008 the Poti Port transshipped 8 million tons of cargo.
