Iran's largest petrochemicals plant BIPC export hits 5.214 mt

Iran's largest petrochemicals plant, the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company (BIPC) exports of petrochemical and polymer products increased by 47 percent to $1.5 billion during the last Iranian calendar year (ended March 20, 2011), compared to the previous year (ended March 20, 2010), Mehr News Agency reported quoting the Managing Director of Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex Mohammad Housein Zarif as saying.

Iran's largest petrochemicals plant, the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company (BIPC) exports of petrochemical and polymer products increased by 47 percent to $1.5 billion during the last Iranian calendar year (ended March 20, 2011), compared to the previous year (ended March 20, 2010), Mehr News Agency reported quoting the Managing Director of Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex Mohammad Housein Zarif as saying.

According to Zarif, BIPC has exported 5.214 million tons of petrochemical products including low density (LDPE) and heavy polyethylene, synthetic rubber, ethylene, propylene, liquefied gases (propane and butane), gasoline and hydrochloric acid during the mentioned above period.

Iran 's Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company low density polyethylene (LDPE) section production increased by 12 percent to 100,000 tons over the last Iranian year.

The Iranian Petrochemical Commercial Company (PCC) said Iran has exported about 12.920 million tons of petrochemical and polymer products worth roughly $8.6 billion over the last Iranian year.

Liquefied gases (propane, ethane), methanol and heavy cut were among major Iranian petrochemical products exported to various countries during the above mentioned period.

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) was the main item of petrochemical exports with 2.39 million tons and over 20 percent of the total figure.

Heavy cut exports increased considerably during the last Iranian year and ranked the second largest petrochemical products export in terms of weight. The product's exports hit 1.9 million tons worth $1.3 billion during this period.

Methanol export with over 1.7 million tons worth $462 million was the third main item after Liquefied Petroleum Gas and heavy cuts.

The products have been sold in 7,361 shipments to 650 Asian, European and African companies.

Petrochemical Commercial Company with 20 years of experience is the largest supplier of Iran's Petrochemical products to the international markets. It is also one of the major Middle-Eastern companies, which is involved in marketing and sales of petrochemical products to the domestic and overseas markets.
