Despite its significant oil and gas reserves, Azerbaijan intends to develop alternative energy sources, Deputy Industry and Energy Minister Gulmammad Javadov said on Monday.
Javadov said the country has created all conditions to develop this promising trend in the energy sector. The country creates necessary conditions for companies that work in this area, particularly on the question of taxation on materials imported into the republic to develop alternative and renewable energy sources.
The Alternative and Renewable Energy Agency operating under the Energy Ministry works to prepare a program to develop alternative and renewable energy sources by 2020, Javadov said.
