Geophysical data from Azerbaijan's onshore processed

Neftchala Operating Company Ltd and Gobustan Operating Company are conducting a primary processing of the data on the results of 3D and 2D geophysical studies carried out by the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), SOCAR Geology and Geophysics Management reported on Monday.

Earlier, Management has completed the fieldwork for the three-dimensional geophysical operations on the field Khilli for the Neftchala Operating Company and two- dimensional geophysical operations on the field Hajiveli for Gobustan Operating Company.

Work in the fields was carried out in accordance with the international standards, respecting all the security and safety measures. Qualitative data has been obtained as a result of this work.

The contract for exploration, development and share production from the onshore fields Neftchala, Khilli, Durovdag-Babazan and south-west wing of Mugan monocline was signed between SOCAR and NIL in Baku on February 3, 2009. SOCAR owns 20 percent, NIL - 80 percent (operator). The contract was signed for 25 years. It can be renewed for another 5 years.

The "South-West Gobustan"contract area consists of three blocks with total area of 604 square kilometers. These blocks include the previously developed "Shikhzakirli", "Shenatud", "Vurkut", "Donuzlug", "Nardaran", "Ilhichi", "Garbi Hajiveli", "Sunda", "Shargi Hajiveli ", "Turagay", " Kenizdag "," Garbi Duvanni ","Duvanni"," Solakhay"and "Dashgil".

Operating companies Neftchala Operating Company Ltd and Gobustan Operating Company have been conducting trials of primary data on the results carried out by SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) and two-dimensional geophysical studies, said the Department of Geology and Geophysics, SOCAR, released Monday.
