The Nabucco gas pipeline project consortium does not exclude the possibility of cooperating with other pipeline projects, such as ITGI (Turkey-Greece-Italy) or TAP (Trans Adriatic Pipeline).
"We are open for cooperation with other pipelines," Nabucco Gas Pipeline International Managing Director Reinhard Mitschek said during a teleconference.

Mitschek stressed that there are no formal negotiations with TAP and ITGI representatives on this issue.

Nabucco is a competitive project. It completely differs from TAP and ITGI projects, he said.

"We consider the Nabucco project as a basis for the "Southern Corridor project," Mitchek said.

The Nabucco gas pipeline project involves gas supplies from the Caspian region and the Middle East to the EU countries.

The maximum capacity of the 3,300 kilometer-pipeline will hit 31 billion cubic meters.
Nabucco participants are the Austrian OMV, Hungarian MOL, Bulgarian Bulgargaz, Romanian Transgaz, Turkish Botas and German RWE, each with an equal share of 16.67 percent.
