In January-April, the Sumgait Power Plant generated about 941.6 million kilowatt hours of electricity compared to the previously forecasted 938.5 million kilowatt hours, Azerenergy reported.
In April the plant generated over 235.2 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
The station consists of two gas turbines with a capacity of 164 megawatts each, and one steam turbine with a capacity of 189 MW which meet world standards.
A 220-kilovolt lines 'Promuzel' and 'Yashma' lengths 6.5 kilometers each were laid in order to transfer electricity produced at the plant to the grid. The Sumgait Power Plant ensures energy security of Sumgait and Absheron Peninsula and is of great importance to the stable operation of energy transmission and distribution systems.
