Hungarian official to visit Azerbaijan

Deputy State Secretary at the Hungarian National Development Ministry Pal Kovacs will represent his country at the upcoming traditional Oil and Gas, Refining & Petrochemicals Exhibition and Conference in Baku, Hungarian ambassador to Azerbaijan Zsolt Chutora told Trend on Tuesday.

The Caspian Oil & Gas 2011, the 18th International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference Incorporating Refining & Petrochemicals will be held in Baku on June 7-10.
Within the visit Kovacs plans to hold several meetings in the Azerbaijani government.
Every year, the exhibition and conference bring together under professionals and major players from the world's oil sector. The exhibition and conference are attended and supported by the government. The prestige of the exhibition is confirmed by the annual participation of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in the opening ceremony. Each year, welcome letters are sent to the exhibition by the leaders of a number of countries.

Traditionally, support for the Caspian Oil & Gas exhibition is provided by the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR). For six years, the exhibition has held "UFI Approved Event" status. The recognition of the UFI (the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) confirms that Caspian Oil & Gas meets international standards. This year the Exhibition has been granted by "Brand Award Azerbaijan 2010" in the nomination of "Brand of the year- Exhibitions in Azerbaijan".

Caspian Oil and Gas 2011 exhibition expects over 300 companies from 28 countries, including representatives from the production and management of every area of the oil and gas industry, representatives of oil and petroleum products transportation, environmentalists and scientists. Over 40 percent of the exhibition space will be taken by globally known companies, most of which are regular exhibitors at Caspian Oil & Gas.

Among the sponsors of the forthcoming Exhibition are the following companies SOCAR, Caspian Geophysical, Cross Caspian, Oil and Gas Logistics, BP, McDermott Caspian, Inpex, Conoco, OMV, RWE, Caspian Pipe Coatings and Nobel Oil. Thus the growth of the exhibition amounts to 25 percent compared to last year.

On the second day of the exhibition, June 8, the traditional Caspian Oil & Gas conference will begin in the conference centre at the Hyatt Regency. It will cover a range of issues related to European energy security and Azerbaijan's role in this matter, the country's investment attractiveness, and the main areas of development of exploration and production in Azerbaijan.
