Iran's loading petrochemicals up 18 million tons

Iran loaded and unloaded around 18 million tons of petrochemical products at Assalouye and Mahshar ports last solar year (ended 20 March, 2011) , SHANA reported quoting Managing Director of Terminals & Tanks Petrochemical Company Mohammad Sharif Shahriari as saying.

Iran loaded 16,975,000 tons and unloaded 866,000 tones of petrochemical products, while the volume of shipment belongs to Assalouye port was nearly 12 million tons and 5,900,000 tones of petrochemical products shipped in Mahshar port .

The trade of petrochemical products increased 27 percent comparing earlier solar year(ended 20 march 2010) .

Shahriari said that the Terminals & Tanks Petrochemical Company presented 618 ,000 tones of basic materials for process of gasoline production shipped by 59 tankers .

Iran petrochemical terminals shipped 936,000 tons heavy Naphtha produced at petrochemical complexes by 47 tankers to Iran's oil refineries for gas-oil production.

Iran has invested $9.3 billion in 27 petrochemical projects with 12.8 production capacity and additional services.

Iran produced around 40 million tons of petrochemical materials annually.
