The National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) rejected news of a possible increase to gas prices for houses in the winter season, Mehr News Agency reported quoting NIGC spokesman Majid Boujarzadeh as saying.

"The gas prices for the domestic, commercial, and industrial sector will not increase. Therefore the domestic gas price would not increase in the cold seasons," he said.

By implementing subsidy cuts, current gas consumption in the domestic sector has reduced by 120 million cubic meters per day.
