The Caspian Technology Company completed the preparation of the necessary infrastructure for installing equipment and establishing a wind energy regeneration park (the "Shurabad" project) in the Yashma settlement village of the Azerbaijani Khizi region, the company said on Thursday.

The source said that all work on casting concrete bases and constructing roads in the territory has been completed.

"All work on concrete casting and road construction has been completed. The date for the park's completion will depend on the terms of the delivery of equipment", the source said.
He said that within a few weeks, accurate information will be available on the date of the equipment's delivery in Azerbaijan from Germany and Denmark. If equipment arrives during the short term, work on the park's construction will be completed by late 2011.

In case of delays in the completion of seasonal navigation channels leading to the Caspian Sea, the terms may be changed for the first quarter of 2012.
The park's total capacity will be 48 megawatts. The installations to be used in the project are manufactured by Vestas, based on a long-term contract with the Caspian Technology Company.

On average 201 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year will be produced after commissioning the park, which, in turn, will save 57 million cubic meters of gas.

Under the contract, electricity produced by the park will be fed into the distribution network of Azerenergy, which will then transfer the electricity to Bakielektrikshebeke.
