State support and investments are required to develop the "green economy" and alternative energy sources, Deputy Chief of the Azerbaijani State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Jamil Melikov said at a workshop on the "Regional analysis and dialogue on the legal framework, system and prospects for "green economy "in the member countries of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation ".

He said Azerbaijan undertakes specific activities and develops the legal framework to develop alternative and renewable energy sources.

The seminar aims to outline priorities in relevant sphere and discuss problems related to economy, ecology, security and mull ways to develop energy efficiency and alternative and renewable energy sources.

Experts from Russia, Turkey, Georgia, Ukraine, Greece and other countries are attending the event.

The State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy acts as the national coordinator under the program to develop alternative and renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan.
