The National Iranian South Oil Company provided 80 percent of country's oil production and 16 percent of gas production (3 million barrels of oil and 110 million cubic meters of gas per day), SHANA reported.

The National Iranian South Oil Company has executed a government oil production plan in current solar year (started on March 20, 2011) at 99.9 percent increasing oil production in past six months.

By producing 3 million barrels of oil per day the central region provided 80 percent of country's oil production rate and 16 percent of gas production.

It is expected the number of oil rigs will increase to 60 in central regions next year to enhance the drilling while the installation of 42 well heads will be completed by late current year.
Iran has OPEC's second-highest oil output, and ranks second in the world in terms of natural gas reserves after Russia.
