Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept.29 / Trend, E. Ismayilov /

Azerbaijani and Turkish working groups have not yet completed negotiations within coordination of a package of agreements on gas issues between the two countries, a senior representative of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Trend on Thursday.

"Now our group is in Ankara and the work continues. Unfortunately, the work runs slowly [...] Perhaps in October, the negotiations will be competed. It all depends on the Turkish side," the source said.

SOCAR and Turkish state pipeline company Botas had to finalize coordination of a package of gas agreements by late September, SOCAR head Rovnag Abdullayev said earlier. He also stressed that the package of agreements may be signed in October. Azerbaijani and Turkish sides are expected to hold a high-level meeting in October.

The package includes gas contracts as costs of Azerbaijani gas to Turkey from the second stage of "Shah Deniz", gas supplies to Turkey from the field after 2017, as well as a transit agreement for the transportation of Azerbaijani gas via Turkey to Europe.

The gas produced within the second phase of the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz Field is considered to be the main gas source for TAP project. Under the Shah Deniz-2 project, Azerbaijan plans to ship 10 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe.
