Iran injected more than 90 million cubic meters gas per day into southern oil reserves during first six months of current solar year(started on March20,2011), SHANA reported quoting Production Manager of National Iranian South Oil Company Abdol Amir Hoveizavi as saying.

"The gas will be injected to Bibi Hakimeh, Gachsaran, Maroon, Ramshir, Koupal, Haftkel and Aghajari oil reserves , the process aim to increase low pressures and production level," he said.

The volume gas injections will increase if the National Iranian Gas Company provides more gas, he added.

The National Iranian South Oil Company produces 3.250 billion barrels of oil per day from southern oil fields, part of production transfers to Khark Island for export and the rest transfer to refinery units.

The lack of gas for injection into oil reserves has led to decline of oil production, currently 30 oil fields in Khozestan province require gas injection but the gas injection applies to 10 oil fields.
