Iran, Turkey to construct joint power plant

Iran and Turkey will construct a joint power plant soon, Pananews reported quoting Managing Director of Iran power network Mir Fatah Gharabagh as saying.

"We intend to construct power plants in cooperation with Turkey and export more electricity to this country and the project is predicted to commence next year," he said.

He noted Iran's power companies are active in other countries, especially in Asian countries, and install power posts and electricity lines.

Iran imported 250 megawatt of electricity from Turkmenistan and exported 833 megawatt to Iraq.

Iran's electricity export is 1,126 megawatt and its power import is 256 megawatt.

Iran is exporting electricity to, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iraq and Afghanistan and importing electricity from Armenia and Turkmenistan.
