Azerenergy plans to use about 3,000-3,500 megawatts of the total electricity generation capacity of the country this winter, Etibar Pirverdiyev, the head of the company, told journalists on Thursday.
Pirverdiyev said now capacity of Azerbaijan's power grid exceeds 6,000 megawatts.
With the phased commissioning of new enterprises in the country it is planned to increase energy production, Pirverdiyev said. In particular, aluminum production will be launched in Ganja in the near future, which may involve about 400 megawatts of energy capacity.
