Oil consumption in OECD countres decreases in 2Q 2011

The consumption of oil in OECD (Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development) countries decreased by 0.82 million barrels per day to 44.785 million barrels per day in the second quarter of 2011 compared to 45.605 million barrels per day during the same period of 2010. These figures are contained in EIA's (Energy Information Administration) International Energy Statistics.

Oil consumption in OECD Europe amounted to 14.125 million barrels per day in the second quarter of 2011 compared to 14.253 million barrels per day during the same time of 2010.

In the first quarter of 2011 oil consumption in OECD countries amounted to 46.433 million barrels per day.

In the second quarter of 2011 OECD countries imported 23.075 million barrels per day compared to 24.189 million barrels per day in the second quarter of 2010.

In the first quarter of this year oil import by OECD countries amounted to 23.585 million barrels per day.
