It is projected that in 2015 production of oil products in Azerbaijan will exceed 6.15 million tons compared to 5.76 million tons in 2011, a draft state budget for 2012 and subsequent three years submitted to the Azerbaijani Parliament says. In 2010 the country produced more than 5.7 million tons of oil products.
Some 2.3 million tons of the total amount of oil products to be produced by Azerbaijani oil refineries in 2015, will account for diesel fuel, about 1.5 million tons - for gasoline, 715,000 tons - fuel for jet engines. The remaining part will account for other oil products.
In 2011, over 2.17 million tons of the total volume of oil products will account for diesel fuel, while about 1.4 million tons for gasoline.
In 2011, the volume of oil production in Azerbaijan is expected to reach about 5.98 million tons compared to about 6.16 million tons in 2013 and 6.18 million tons - in 2014, the draft state budget says.
The country produces oil products at the two Baku oil refineries with a total capacity of 20 million tons of oil per year. Both oil refineries are owned by SOCAR, which annually processes about 6-7 million tons of oil from the Azerbaijani offshore and onshore fields.
